☝️1 Prompt

An input you provide ChatGPT to get a specific response.

🎥 If you want to dive into this week’s prompt: Here’s a breakdown

The Prompt

I often find myself overcome with information overload—especially when digesting large blog articles and pieces of text. Using a simple ChatGPT prompt to “please summarise XYZ” is a good foundation, but implementing today’s prompt takes summarisation to another level of clarity.

You can access the prompt directly in ChatGPT here.

☝️1 Insight

A key takeaway from the prompt.

MECE, which stands for “Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive”, is a principle often used in management consulting. It’s designed to organise information into separate parts that don't overlap, yet cover all relevant aspects. I find prompting ChatGPT to leverage this principle is a great method that goes beyond traditional summarisation.

☝️1 Action

Take the prompt one step further.

Try out the MECE principle using the next interesting article you come across. I find great applications using this prompt when researching—especially complex concepts that would otherwise take me a lot of time to get my head around. Copy and paste the long-form text into ChatGPT and get immediate actionable insights.

Even if these prompts aren’t relevant to you right now, let them serve as a benchmark of inspiration for you to turn back to when the time is right.

See you Sunday,

Alex Banks
